Old Friends

it was wonderful to have lunch with si and catch up properly. we went and saw jo, rob, caera and byron. they were gorgeous. caera was all giggly and happy to see me, byron was really shy with si, but warmed up lots. si is playing with these guys and working on the album. they are recording at The Lab.

words can’t express what it’s like to hear someone’s story and realise how many spoken and unspoken prayers God has answered. it gives me hope for current circumstances, to realise that God hears and answers and continues to work despite the darkness and gloom that sometimes threatens to cloud the horizon.

A Discussion Underway

A Week Lost In New Testament

last week i was on a block course in New Testament with George Wieland. He is a total legend. and the new testament isn’t bad either. the thing that left the biggest impression on me was probably on the second to last day. we were studying the letters of Paul..

Paul’s customary greeting was ‘charis kai eirene’.. meaning Grace and Peace. spoken in Greek it has a flavour all it’s own, but George pointed out that the traditional Hebrew greeting of the Jews was ‘shalom’ .. meaning peace. what an ultimate union of the Grace of the New Covenant with the promises of the Old. Everything fulfilled or being fulfilled as it should be… grace and peace.

Song Of The Moment

Best of What’s Around

Hey, my friend

It seems your eyes are troubled

Care to share your time with me

Would you say you’re feeling low and so

A good idea would be to get it off of your mind

See, you and me

Have a better time than most can dream

Have it better than the best

And so can pull on through

Whatever tears at us

Whatever holds us down

And if nothing can be done

We’ll make the Best of What’s Around

Turns out not where but who you’re with

That really matters

That really matters

And hurts not much when you’re around

When you’re around

And if you hold on tight

To what you think is your thing

You may find you’re missing all the rest

She ran up into the light surprised

Her arms are open

Her mind’s eye is…

Seeing things from a

Better side than most can dream

On a better road I feel

So you could say she’s safe

Whatever tears at her

Whatever holds her down

And if nothing can be done

She’ll make the best of what’s around

Turns out not where but what you think

That really matters

That really matters

That really matters

See, you and me

Have a better time than most can dream

Have it better than the best

And so can pull on through

Whatever tears at us

Whatever holds us down

And if nothing can be done

We’ll make the Best of What’s Around

Turns out not where but what you think

That really matters

That really matters

That really matters

And hurts not much when you’re around

When you’re around
